 | | Congrats to our Featured Stamper jdmeeks aka Donna - This week I HAVE to get 2 cards completed for my youngest grandsons (brothers) who were born 2 years and a few days apart. Luckily Donna has a wonderful variety in her gallery, so I did find this Father's Day card with a golf theme. (My youngest grandson soon to be 14 has been an avid golfer since age 7)
Things I changed: Orientation, Die cut images instead of stamped, different color palette, Birthday instead of Father's Day
I wanted the color scheme to give a feel of outdoors without being the regular grass green and skyblue. I started with an aqua base then found a soft green which I embossed with swiss dots - This was lightly sanded to enhance the bg.
I die cut a bunch of golf related items from black cardstock plus letters to spell the word GOLF to be paired with a computer generated sentiment. These were shuffled around my card base until a pleasing layout emerged. Then I adhered each die cut to white and framed in aqua with the exception of the golfer as I wanted a more natural feel to that.
I usually find teen boy cards hard to make but Donna's inspiration really helped me "get it done" today! |
