I screwed up my first try at a simple technique of pre-inking the embossing folder with white ink onto an intense blue cs. I didn't use enough ink, then used too much, didn't line it up correctly, blah blah blah, & had to toss it. What I was left with, however, was a blueish embossing folder, as the dye from the paper bled. So I went with a white CS to pick up the color. It worked, albeit lighter than I wanted, so when I brayed the darker blue over the pattern, I also added some to the background. I mixed up a small batch of gloss gel medium with some gold pigment powder and scraped it through the brass Mahalo stencil with a cut up credit card. Mounted the card onto that bright blue paper and then white felt CS. |
