Chip, who was an official for football, is turning 80 and our hostess, Jennifrann, has asked the Tea Potters to shower him with good wishes and lots of black and white stripes. I have so many stripes on this card, I think Jen should award me an entire plate of cookies this week.
Football referees (here is the US at least) are sometimes referred to as zebras so I decide to go with that. I added gold as my accent color as it's the color of the flag the referees use in games. This card turned out to be waaaaaaaay busier than it was in my head, but I went with it anyways. I think it's fun and I hope Chip does as well. Inside the card says: A Party Animal! Happy 80th Birthday.
For those of you familiar with the Super Bowl commercials by Budweiser, many years ago they had a series of commercials with the Clydesdales playing football in snow crested mountains. One of my fav of that series had a zebra as the referee reviewing a play on the playback camera. One of the cowboys watching the game was getting impatient and says to his friend, "this referee is a jackass". The friend replies: "no, I believe that's a zebra. Still makes me laugh.
Hope you find something to laugh about today as well. Here's the link to that commercial on YouTube if you want to check it out:

It's pretty obvious, when you say it, that refs can be known as zebras. I was thinking what a brilliant idea for stripes - it still is brilliant but now I know where the inspiration came from. Fun stripy party hats, too!
