CC1100 - With Sympathy

Mary M. is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has given us a dark-ish palette: Secret Sea, Cloud Cover, and Pretty Peacock. The dessert option is to use DS paper. I haven't been buying DS paper, and I have none in any of these colors, so no dessert for me!

When I make sympathy cards, I tend to shy away from bright colors and gravitate to darker, more subdued colors. So I took this challenge and used the colors for a sympathy card. I added the equivalent of Blackberry Bliss as a neutral. I started out by using silver foil and a "Foil-it" to outline the leaves, then used a four-layer stencil set to color the leaves. Added a sentiment and a few gems, and it was done.

This is quite a beauty Barbara. Your stencil and foiling work is outstanding. It works so well as a sympathy card, but I think it would work for a variety of occasions.

This is really lovely. The Blackberry Bliss color acts as a wonderful counterpoint to the blue/green shades. I admire your discipline in not buying DSP. I cannot resist all the gorgeousness available!

Truly lovely, and perfectly fitting choice for a sympathy card. I agree, the warmer/darker tones are more suitable to these hard circumstances than brighter, happier colors. Lovely card, sure to soothe the recipients. Thanks so much for sharing!

I agree with you, Barbara, these colors had a more somber mood....which made them perfect for a sympathy card. Your card is lovely with the leafy stems. The bit a shimmer on their outlines is a lovely touch.
