I created a northern lights background by sponging various Distress inks on slightly glossy cs (I find it easier to get the effect of streaks in the sky with the slightly glossy cs than with regular cs). Then I splattered it with watered down white acrylic paint for the stars. I layered a white die cut sleigh and horse over it and added two coordinating sentiments.
My northern lights turned out a bit too muted and I wasn't happy with my white splattering as I got some blobs that are way too big.

This is so pretty! I've always wanted to see the northern lights and I managed to from my front garden during particularly intense solar activity so the lights were much further south than normal and what I saw was way more muted than this!

Susan, this is so pretty! Great sky and the snow is perfect - I need to remember that a ton of splatter is not needed to achieve a snowy background. Super dies and designing. Hugz
