For today's WT1098 Challenge to use an animal from one of Aesop's fables. Apparently there are almost 30 of Aesop's fables that include a fox so I dug out this sweet set of Anita Jeram's and stamped it on watercolour paper. Die cut it three times to raise it up off the background. I wasn't thrilled with how my background turned out - it is several different distress inks and there's a hint of a moon if you look really hard. Next time I'll mask off a moon and paint around that. Learn by my goof ups. The card base is navy blue - it looks almost black in the photo.
The sentiment is one of my favourite Verve stamps. The inside verse says "We many be miles apart, but you are always close to my heart". This will go to a dear friend that I haven't seen for over a year.

I don't think I have that Verve stamp but I have the same scripture from Serendipity Stamps. It always goes well with nature scenes, I think. Adorable little fox.

The soft watercoloring gives the little fox such a tender, contemplative feel, and the raised die‑cutting adds a lovely sense of depth against that moody sky. The subtle moon glow works beautifully with the navy base and ties so well with the sentiment. A heartfelt, peaceful scene.
Such a special card for a dear friend. I do see the moon, though I thought it could also be the sun on a foggy day. We have lots of those hazy days in the PNW.
