She picked birds to celebrate March 19th which is the date the cliff swallows return to Mission San Juan Capistrano, CA annually which coincides with St. Joseph's Day, marking the start of spring and a celebrated local tradition. The birds travel around 6,000 miles. I looked up bunches of pictures and they make really cool designs in the sky when they swarm (or whatever you call it when birds group together).
I decided to paint and draw their return to celebrate with everyone. |
