| | It is hard to see in the picture, but I inked up the flat side of an EF with Distress inks, and then stamped over the ink with the Gradation stamp, which had been inked in black archival (this is a variation of the Reverse stamping technique in Tim Holtz's Creative Chemistry 101 video). I then embossed the watercolor cardstock, and did additional inking on the background, using Tsukineko metallic inks to highlight the raised parts of the paper. The dragonfly was cut twice, once on matte black alcohol ink cardstock, and a second time on watercolor cardstok that had been colored with Distress watercolor pencils, and the colored pieces were inlayed into the black dragohnfly frame. the body of the dragonfly was embossed twice with black embossing powder, and the black dragonfly frame was outlined with a Wink of Stella pen. None of these techniques is hard, but there are a lot of steps involved in making this card. Going to give this and the other 3 in this dragonfly series to a friend for his birthday. |
