Side Sketch SC1105

I painted this little pair of mice a few weeks ago and it was in my box of colored images. Laying the sketch on its side I was able to use it with all the elements of the sketch. Arrangement varies slightly, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Just realized I should have put it on a more colorful background, but there's always next time.

The sideways take on the sketch works so well here. The soft watercoloring gives those little mice such charm, and the scalloped frame and circle detail echo the layout without feeling rigid. The slight shift in arrangement adds personality, and the clean white base keeps the whole scene bright and fresh.
