Poster: Falcon Bertille

This week, our Tea Party theme is chickens.

I started by pulling out a piece of chicken patterned paper. Then, to add visual interest, I used a puzzle die to cut it into pieces. I also used the die to cut a black frame for inserting the pieces into.

At this point, the card could have been assembled pretty quickly. But first, I had to pull out all my chicken ephemera, in order to find the perfect centerpiece. And that took about an hour. LOL!

In the end, I went with one of the first things I pulled out (of course). It's a chicken-shaped button with the shank cut off.

I took a piece of black cardstock, leftover from cutting the black frame, and glued it to the center of the card. Then I glued the chicken button onto it.

My husband and I really enjoy the Disney Parks. On the "Pirates of the Caribbean" ride, there's a scene where the pirates are dunking the town mayor, while his wife yells out the window "Carlos! Don't be chicken!" So, for some nonsensical reason, I decided that this chicken is named Carlos.

The puzzle die gave a great layout, especially keeping a black piece in the centre, and oh my, I love your button! If it weren't that those shaped ones can be hard to use in real life, I would want to knit something it could be used on.

That ephemera...it just pulls you in. But you found the perfect piece for this card. Carlos looks like he was made to show off against that paper. Love the asymmetrical look of your puzzled bg. Great card.

That button is amazing! And it looks like it was created to go with that patterned paper (you have a real knack for pairing items like that). l've never seen the puzzle die like that before, but it is really effective in this usage.

What a fun, creative card! I love the chicken embellie, and that great background paper! So creative of you to make a jigsaw puzzle out of it!

What an awesome card!!! Love how you used the puzzle die to create that fantastic background, and that was a great idea to use the button for the centerpiece! Great card!
