 | | This week, our Tea Party theme is chickens.
I started by pulling out a piece of chicken patterned paper. Then, to add visual interest, I used a puzzle die to cut it into pieces. I also used the die to cut a black frame for inserting the pieces into.
At this point, the card could have been assembled pretty quickly. But first, I had to pull out all my chicken ephemera, in order to find the perfect centerpiece. And that took about an hour. LOL!
In the end, I went with one of the first things I pulled out (of course). It's a chicken-shaped button with the shank cut off.
I took a piece of black cardstock, leftover from cutting the black frame, and glued it to the center of the card. Then I glued the chicken button onto it.
My husband and I really enjoy the Disney Parks. On the "Pirates of the Caribbean" ride, there's a scene where the pirates are dunking the town mayor, while his wife yells out the window "Carlos! Don't be chicken!" So, for some nonsensical reason, I decided that this chicken is named Carlos. |
