I drew my cat first in pencil and used my watercolor pencils to create my cats fur throughout his body with the stroke of my pencils. I then used my watercolor brush to smooth out some of the pencil strokes. This cat represents my main coon cat that rescued me when I went to the animal shelter. He was hiding in a drawer in the cat play room and when I sat down I heard him meow. I sat and just listened. he came running out of the drawer and jumped into my lap. and we went home.

I'm still smiling! SOOOOO cute!! Your story proves my theory that I believe cats choose us, rather than the other way around. Nice that you have a lap cat. Mine will just sidle up to me, but thankfully, every night
Aww! What a sweet rescue story! They sure do know when they find their people! Our Rocket just walked out of the woods and right into our house and plopped down. He brought along a friend who kept careful watch for several weeks before he decided this was his forever home too! You did a fabulous job on your kitty. His eyes are so expressive! Beautifully done.

Maine Coon cats have the best personalities! Brilliant idea to use your watercolor pencils to depict his long lustrous fur. Your card is a wonderful tribute to him and your friendship with each other.

How jealous am I that you have a main coon cat. I would love one. So nice that yours chose you at the shelter too. Cats just know these things. Made me smile.

Such a tender tribute to your Maine Coon. The soft pencil strokes give his fur so much depth and movement, and the gentle wash from your water brush keeps everything cohesive without losing that hand‑drawn character. His expression is wonderfully alert and full of personality. Pairing that with your rescue story makes the whole piece even more special.
