Sabrina chose BACK TO BLACK as the theme for our Ways To Use It Challenge. It honors the birthday of Johnny Cash, the Man In Black.
I chose to try the Blackout Embossing technique for my card. All coloring is done on the debossed side of the paper. First you color your images as you desire and then using a black ink pad you simply drag the pad across your paper turning 90 degrees as you apply the dark background.

Great card! I love this technique because the results are always so striking. Your combination of pale green and blue looks fantastic combined with the black.

I'm often puzzled at the optical effect that debossing can sometimes look like embossing and vice versa. I would have sworn that was embossed except I know it can't be. It showcases that folder amazingly - I can't say it had ever caught my attention before.

The debossed florals look luminous against the deep black, and the way you blended the greens and blues gives the whole panel a soft, moonlit glow. The blackout layer is beautifully controlled, letting the details stay crisp while still creating that dramatic contrast. A striking take on the challenge that really shows off this folder.

Wow, this is gorgeous. Apparently I'm the only person who has never tried this technique (based on the comments) but you've convinced me I need to try it if you get results like this.
