WT1094 Black and white

Poster: stampingwriter

For Ways to Use It, we are focusing on black and related techniques. I used the chalkboard technique for the sentiment. (The tutorial Chalkboard Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers includes a step where you create smudges, but I chose to omit the smudging.) I picked the sentiment because the shape of the flourish echoes the patterned paper.

It amazes me how people can get the white so strong and pretty on black!! This is beautiful and the bg papers are perfect with it + washi tape!

Lovely paper, and yes, the style of the sentiment goes so well with it. I know what you mean about the smudging, I'm always in two minds about it but it certainly is characteristic of an old chalkboard.

The crisp blackboard panel looks striking against the patterned paper, and the way the flourish in the sentiment mirrors the curves in the background gives the whole design a really intentional, unified feel. The clean embossing keeps the message bold and bright, and the simple ribbon accent finishes it with just the right touch of softness.
