 | | For the Sketch Challenge hosted by Marion. I looked through my leftovers from previous projects. I found this pressed flowers piece. The technique is in the tutorial section here on SCS: Faux Pressed Flowers. I have done it many times; it is a great way to use those paper flowers that were once so popular.
For my piece, I colored the leaves & stems on the stamp with Soft Suede and Soft Succulent markers, I did not color the flowers. Then I huffed on it and stamped. I glued prima flowers on top of the image, making sure the flowers were thoroughly glued down. After it was all dry, I dry embossed the panel.
Today, I trimmed it and matted with Soft Suede. I prepared the banners by trimming, punched the tails, and rounding the corners. All was assembled on a white card base. I added gold sequins as flower centers. I stamped a sentiment and die-cut it with a die that rounds opposite corners; I thought it went well with the corners on the banners. The ink smeared a little so I added a sequin.
I used a leftover and some retired colors & papers, so that was good. Thanks for looking! |
