This was done for Brenda's Mountains VSN Challenge. funnily enough, my mama's little brother has gold mining as a hobby so this made me grin. I did paint this really loose to fit in the time frame and did the white gouache as a last minute idea after that panel was cut and on the pop dots ha ha. The sentiment had been stamped sometime around Christmas as something for next Christmas and it was on the table. Thanks for this challenge Brenda & tfl.

The loose water coloring gives this scene such a peaceful, natural flow, and the touches of gouache add a beautiful lift to the light. The mix of papers frames everything so well, and the sentiment feels perfectly at home with the quiet landscape.
