Origami Hearts

I did two of the origami hearts since I have two granddaughters. I kind of ran out of steam; I wish people who post videos would stop feeling the need to say how easy things are...not for all of us.
I found the paper started to break down on the edges from all the creasing and, as you can see, they don't lay particularly flat. But I had fun!
This is also for yesterday's FS. What a wonderful gallery! I kept the hearts and the colors: Love + let love by Barbarayaya at Splitcoaststampers

As soon as I saw two I thought they must be for your twirly girls. I tried origami paper for one of my first attempts, thinking it would hold up better but it didn't. I like the papers you used, hard to pick a favourite. Because they're are two and they look so asian, I immediately thought of the book Miss Happiness and Miss Flower.

Both look great, origami folding is not my favorite hobby, it was a challenge for me too, but once I found out how it worked I could make a bunch of these, your granddaughters will be happy with these!!

Great cards Jean love the colors you chose. I agree this was not easy for me either. the folding got me and my card does not lay flat like the video. LOL

The paired hearts look so thoughtful and personal, each one carrying its own mood through the patterned papers. The folds may have fought you, but the finished shapes still read beautifully and feel full of intention. The contrast between the colors keeps the eye moving, and the slight dimensional lift adds charm rather than distraction. A lovely way to honor both granddaughters with something handmade and heartfelt.
