Karen is our hostess this week and she gave us some nice colors, but a bit tricky, with a dessert of any 5th color. My dessert is using Early Espresso as my 5th color. I was a bit stumped at first at how to use these colors and then I came across this Northwoods stamp. So my card base is Boho Blue with a WW mat embossed with a new SU embossing folder that is rapidly becoming a favorite of mine, matted on Early Espresso. I stamped my image, coloring with SU Blends before matting on Boho Blue and popping it up. I sponged Boho Blue for my winter sky and added Stickles on my snow and bird house roof. I used a long retired punch for my sentiment piece. The scene on this card fits the weather we are having in WI this week, bitterly, bitterly cold temps with wind chills, and yes my cardinals come to my feeder every day!! Karen said she had something in mind when she chose these colors, and I can hardly wait to see what her creation is, and yours too. So come along and play in our challenge this week. TFL.

Terrific idea for the challenge colors, Mary. Love this sweet scene of the birds coming to the feeder. The way you colored it and added sparkles to the ice, I can just feel the cold. Brrrr! Darling card.

The cardinal is my state's bird, and we never lack seeing them. A male has been pecking in my windows. Not sure why, but when he sees me, he immediately flies away. They are fun to watch. Beautiful coloring and sponging, Mary! I'm really liking that ef too; nice choice~

Pretty card with all the red cardinals gathering around the birdhouse. Being territorial birds, there is bounding to be some disputes. : ) Your scene is beautifully colored.
