 | | Don't know if this was the plan but it was easy to combine several challenges today.
I sort of winged it with this one, pulled out a stash stenciled background (tall evergreens but hard to see), not sure of the media but probably DOx, knew I wanted to do snowflakes instead of stars for the sketch. I haven't used this snowflake die in forever, it's a 'one-piece' die that I was going to cut apart but then I decided to use the negative inserts as 'sort of' snowflakes. The center negative piece was put back in, popped up a bit. I used some LP and Nuvo drops for accents and my snowman is an old cancelled US Christmas stamp, back before the forever stamps came about. Finally I thought the sentiment fit the WT, since it's a play on words. I used a sturdy rice paper to cut out the snowflake, it has a nice sheen and texture to it.
I'm sending this to my son in law's sister who just got married in October. She sent me a Christmas card with a collage of wedding photos.
Thanks for the challenges! I love that song in 'White Christmas' about snow (when they're on the train, heading to Vermont). |
