Chat is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has given us some rich colors to work with: Strawberry Slush, Old Olive, and Early Espresso. The dessert option is a cup or mug--no dessert for me this Week!
I used a new-to-me stamp, stencil and embossing folder set, Flower Fields, and an old stand-by layout for my card. This set intrigues me because the big daisies are the color of the cardstock (in this case, white). The stamp creates the floral design and background, and the stencils provide space to fill in the leaves and berries. For my background, I used Gray Granite. This surprised me for two reasons: The pad was quite dry, and so the background is somewhat blotchy, despite having stamped it 6 times. And the color isn't gray--it looks like a light version of Early Espresso, which works with this week's challenge, but isn't the look I was going for.
I trimmed my panel to A2 size then used a smaller stitched rectangle die to cut out an inner rectangle. Stamped and die cut the greeting and glued it onto a strip of vellum. Wrapped the strip around the smaller rectangle, the popped that element up with foam tape.
I'm looking forward to seeing lots of cups of coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the gallery this week! Please join us!

I really like the way these colors all came together, Barbara, even though the gray one surprised you! The pink and white stand out so well and your sentiment looks so pretty with the backed up vellum supporting it~

Gorgeous card and I love the pop of pink and white. You have a wonderful design and the vellum is great for the sentiment.

This is so pretty Barbara. And you’re right, that Gray Granite a bit dry does look like a lighter version of Early Espresso. Love the vellum sentiment piece too.

Beautiful design. You do such lovely stencil work. I love the white daisies on a darker background, they really pop. Terrific ideas for the challenge colors.
