A card to cheer Allison who is a nature lover, and, since itâs officially autumn, I thought colorful leaves might help lift her spirits.
I sponged distress inks onto cardstock and used various leaf dies to cut them out. I arranged and adhered the leaves to acetate, then hid foam adhesive behind the leaves and adhered the acetate to a piece of brown cardstock- the acetate panel gives the illusion of floating leaves. I added gold discs as accent but, alas, they photographed black. Oh well, it looks good irl.
Hoping our cards give Allison much joy!

Gorgeous fall-themed card! I love how you 'floated' those beautiful leaves on the acetate, what a great effect!

I like the very realistic effect you got by sponging your colours on. Those mottled leaves are the sort that always catch my eye on a walk. The Bosch background really makes them pop, too.

This card is such a beautiful tribute to the season and to Allison’s love of nature. The sponged distress inks give the leaves such a rich, organic texture—like they were gathered straight from a forest walk. I especially love the floating effect created by the acetate panel; it adds a sense of movement and magic, as if the leaves are caught mid-drift. The gold discs are a lovely touch too, even if they played tricks with the camera. This design feels both thoughtful and uplifting—just the kind of joy-filled gesture that can brighten someone’s day.
