 | | I am entering this weeks SCS CAS Challenge : Halloween.
I have never made a Halloween card before and was so excited to be able to use my new Hello Bluebird stamps I bought!
I stamped out my images, colored them in with Copics then die cut them out with the coordinating dies and set them aside.
For my background, I watercolored black swaths of color onto a watercolor paper. Then I started sponging on various Distress Inks, such as : Chipped Sapphire, Villainous Potion, Prize Ribbon, Rustic Wilderness & Black Soot, in places until I was happy with my night sky.
I cut out a random fence with black cardstock, with my Sizzix die, then went back over it with Black Soot ink, to make it "blacker". Then I cut the whole background out with a MFT Double Stitched Rectange die.
I glued my fence on, added pop-dots under both images at various depths to keep them from looking flat and lifeless.
My only regret is forgetting to add my white matting under my background matting, to add a little crispness in white, when you look at it, otherwise it looks "muddy" without it |
