 | | The H challenge for this week was hat pin. I watercolored this lovely summer bonnet, and included a pin with a pearl on its head. I remember the days of using hat pins, especially with the pillbox styles a la Jackie Kennedy. When I was in high school, our uniform was a cadet blue tailored suit with an accompanying hat, and white gloves The hat came with two giant hat pins to hold it in place on the New York City subway! We got a new principal when I was a senior, and we didn't have to wear the hats anymore, but we were still supposed to wear the gloves. |
