Photo Details

 | | Roberta is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has given us a beautiful, restful combo of Pool Party, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso. The dessert option is to add a fourth color; but to my amazement, my card seemed complete without an additional color. So no dessert for me this week. :-( I used one of my all-time favorite stamp sets, Wetlands.
I started by tearing some Post-It tape as irregularly as I could, then masked off a square on a white panel. I masked the line between beach and ocean, and started by blending the Pool Party ocean. Then I removed that masking strip, turned it upside down, and ink blended the beach. Then, with Early Espresso ink, I stamped the darker dots on the sand, and removed the masking strips.
I placed the panel in my MISTI, stamped the sandpipers, then the sea oats. I used one of the dies to cut that panel, and a second one from that set to cut the Early Espresso layer. The detail on that layer doesn't come through on the photo, but it's very pretty IRL.
That upper corner looked kinda empty, so I filled it in with bit of burlap ribbon, then mounted the white layer onto the Espresso layer with foam tape, and glued all onto a Pool Party layer which I'd edged with some PP ink. Mounted all on a white card base, and added the greeting sticker and a gold dot.
These colors are so beautiful together, please give them a try and post your creation in the Gallery for us all to admire!
