Liz's FS969

I have always been a fan of Betty Wright's work(gbedwright). She seems to love florals as much as I do, and we were both followers of Flourishes (and Marcella Hawley's lovely art) and I remember the lovely cards Betty would enter into the Tuesday Flourishes challenges that I like to take part in. Although the card I was inspired by from her gallery is dated 2010, 2008 was filled with multilayered cards and that wonderful Basic Grey design paper. I used some on this card because I still have a few in my paper stash. This was one of my favorite stamps from Flourishes and I still have all of the many wonderful stamps I purchased from them, and it was nice to use one of them for this challenge today. This was a fun idea, Linda, to go back and revisit some of the beauties that are still in the SCS galleries.

In that mailing is more expensive nowdays, I used lesser layers, embellishments, and ribbons, to conserve the extra cost of postage. I used the smaller sweet pea image that was included in that set that Betty used, and I changed the colors and layout some.

Love your Fall colors, pretty flowers, fab layers, and that GREAT ribbon, Liz. Wonderful case/card. I agree on the cost of mailing. I hate cutting back on layers, but we have to do it. Urgh. Hugz

Such pretty layers on this Liz - and a lovely mix of patterns and colors! The ribbon is a nice final touch!

Liz, this is beautiful! I have found myself doing the same, few layers, less postage! Your card is a delight and I loved reading the description. It’s so fun that you were able to use a favorite stamp!

Yep - fewer layers and much less mounting foam as you get dinged on postage for having too THICK of a card, too. Wonderful case, Liz - I like the segue from the muted circles in the bg to the more colorful diagonal circles on the middle layer. The gold hexagon adds some nice shine.
