WT1065 Christmas fan

For this weekâs Ways to Use It Challenge, Lisa challenged us to use a fan. I went looking for a fold and ended up finding a tutorial on this fan card, which isnât really a fold because the triangular pieces are cut and popped up to make it look like a fold. (The tutorial Lisa linked to on the challenge page isn't the video I saw, but it's the same technique.) It might look more complex than it really is, because this was my first try and everything fit as it was supposed to. As long as you have two patterned papers that play well together, it should come out fine.

The dimensional fan effect is so striking—what a clever way to create movement and elegance without a traditional fold. The pairing of patterned papers is spot-on, especially with the festive poinsettias that add such warmth and richness. Great Christmas card. I really like the darker paper you used as a contrast to the poinsettia one, and the dark green base was a great choice.
