For this week's Ways to Use It Challenge, we are using resist techniques. There are many to choose from in the Tutorials section of SCS. My card uses Versamark resist, which is called Ghosting in the tutorial. Stamp with Versamark on glossy paper, let it dry, and sponge on color. The Versamark ink resists the color and you get a ghostly image. I used the ghosted image (a script background) behind an aperture, and placed a die-cut flower over it. (Between the clear-embossed sentiment and the glossy paper, this was hard to photograph.)

The ghosting technique adds such a dreamy elegance to your design—especially with the script peeking through the aperture. The layered flower and glossy sentiment create a beautiful contrast that draws the eye in. This is a stunning example of how subtle textures can elevate a card’s impact!

I remember being very disappointed the first time I tried this, after that I started leaving it longer and have always been happier. I think it gives a lovely soft look, and works particularly well with script.
