 | | For my card today, I drew upon a memory from when my kids were little. We made our own butter using a clear plastic jar so they could see the changes that were happening in the jar.
We took turns shaking the jar and singing and dancing to make it fun. When it was done, we poured the buttermilk off and took a knife and spread our butter on saltine crackers and ate them. They were yummy.
I have to say, this week I learned a lot about butter. There was more than just the typical butter churn we think of. There were barrels that turned, barrels that were pushed back and forth and even one that was hooked to a rocking chair! LOL
I learned that our butter wasn't yellow like store bought butter because the cows were fed corn not grass.
To make the card I stamped and colored the jar and lid. I die cut a plate and knife from the dies I had. I cut squares from foam and used my paper piercer to make holes in the crackers. I cut foam and colored it yellow to make it look like butter on the crackers. I added the crackers to the plate. I used crumb cake cardstock and cut out a table and embossed it with a woodgrain embossing folder. Then I dragged pecan pie across it to make the wood more realistic. I added foam tape behind all of the items and the table. I added a blue dsp behind the table to show off the items on the table. |
