Suz (pixordia) is issuing this week's watercolor challenge and I enjoyed it so much. We are using salt to make our cherry blossoms.
You may ask why I have a topless tree. Ugh I had my card sketched and watercolored and really liked it. I kept looking and thought I saw something in the top I wanted to correct. Guess what? I ruined the top. So, I decided to make another one and it was a dud and then another that was a dud. I finally just decided to go back with the first one and cut the top out of the tree. And, this is what you get. But, I rather like it just the same.
I also did mine somewhat different from the tutorial but I thought the cherry tree was the main part of her tutorial. I do have it or at least part of it. I thought my salt worked really well.
The artist this week is Emma Jane Lefebvre and the the name of the tutorial is Create Cherry Blossom Trees with Watercolor and SALT.
Watercoloring is so much fun and we hope you will join us this week.

This is so serene and I'm drawn to your soft colors! Very, very nice!

Brenda, this is so Sweet! I Love the delicate look of your painting and I didn't think anything of the top being missing. Wish I could be reading a book under that tree staring at the clouds as they go by.....

Oh, you made me smile telling about your challengs as you worked on this challenge. We all have similar stories, believe me. In the end, your scene turned out beautifully and I love the special addition of the bird. It makes it yours.
