For some unknown reason the salt technique never works for me, no matter what I try. So Sad! It is hard to make a tree look good without using the salt!
Oh well, eh!

It is charming, Kia. I like you path beside it too.
What I found was the trick is in wetting the paper until just shiny- no puddles and sprinkling the salt lightly and leave it.

A lovely scene, Kia. I know what you mean about the salt. It seems to work sometimes and other times not. Suz is right about the water being just shiny but not too wet. Your road and path look great and I see little white flowers mixed in along the road....love that.

You know what I am half way wondering... ( she did not use her best paints doing it... so that makes me wonder if my non Daniel Smith ones may work better ) but, it will be a few days before I can test that idea. I love how bold the scene is Kia.

I think the paper we use and the amount of water is important for this kind of technique, if you use a structure water color paper (grain) it will be different I think, but your painting is very pretty Kia
