Kia gave us a wonderful tutorial from Debbie Walker Art for some tips on making our water color paintings more realistic.

Started with a light yellow base for the flowers, added orange and then red! So fun!!

The blending of all these warm shades has given
the flowers a fiery glow. Love the contrast of the deep green.

These fire blooms are bursting with energy—the warm gradient from yellow to orange to red gives them such a lifelike glow. I love how the freehand watercolor technique lets the color flow organically while still keeping the structure of each petal. The vivid contrast against the green leaves really makes the entire piece pop!
