For this week's Ways to Use It Challenge, the challenge is to use aluminum foil or other foiling technique. I have wanted to try the faux tin tile technique since Sabrina used it several months ago. I followed the SCS tutorial, although I had to put at least 2 coats of paint on my tile to get good coverage. Once I had the tile, I realized it made sense make my card in a vintage style. I found the ink bottle and quill die-cuts in my stash. I sponged blue onto the ink bottle and gray onto the feather, and found a sentiment that looked like it could have been handwritten, which I stamped in the same blue. For the rest of the card, I chose papers that look like old-fashioned, traditional patterns for fabrics. Each layer is edged in Night of Navy by running the edge of the paper over the ink pad.

The faux tin tile makes such a stunning backdrop—it’s so detailed and dimensional, it really anchors the vintage theme beautifully. I love the ink bottle and quill pairing with the handwritten-style sentiment, and the choice of patterned papers adds so much nostalgic charm. A wonderfully thoughtful and cohesive design!
