WOOD you please check out Melody's (lacyquilter) Spring VSN challenge? She is challenging us to use wood on our cards, in various forms, natural, stamped, or otherwise! I used the Carved Wood Technique for my card. It was featured a while ago in Technique Lover's Challenge 808--TLC808. I used an embossing folder rather than a stencil for this technique
Used the Grey Wool and DOX inks to create the carved wood look on the EF piece. Stamped the image and the greeting on Smoky Slate CS with Versamark, and heat embossed with the Rose Gold EP. Die-cut an oval around the embossed image and greeting, and die-cut another oval from the red CS from my stash. Layered the ovals, then added the gold corner sticker at the bottom as it looked a little bare. :-)
Colored the image lightly with colored pencils, and then used Gamsol to smooth it out.
The Impresslits dry embosses and die-cuts two strips at the same time, so I used some textured red CS from my stash in the Impresslit. Layered those on the card front, and popped the oval up with some foam tape. TFL!
Come along and play in VSN, The Natural Look, we're having loads of fun, and would love to have you join us!
