The Teapotters are getting together this week for Team Matthew, to create cards with a tie dye theme. Matthew loves tie dye, and is in need of some support and encouragement as he is battling cancer for the second time in his young life (Matthew is 13).
I followed the directions in the Tie Dye Background tutorial, using a coffee filter and distress inks to create a cool background for my balloon scene. Happy accident that the green section looked like a hill for my silhouetted observer to stand on! I hope my card will lift Matthew's spirits, and maybe make him smile! TFL!

Your tie dye came out GREAT... it is perfect. I will have to practice doing it again.. mine just didn't work for me. The sentiment is perfect with those hot air balloons, and the boy is really studying the details of those balloons with his 'spy glass'. Fabulous card for Matthew.

I think the crafty craft elves were at work and made sure you used the green in just the right spots because that bg totally works. The colors remind me of a sunny day on a grassy hillside. Love the beautiful balloons (great coloring there) and that's a great silhouette. I know it didn't come with the balloons but it certainly looks like it was made for them. Completes the scene to perfection. Well, actually, it's your sentiment that does that. Fabulous card and sure to light up Matthew's face and his room. I hope he imagines himself in one of those balloons floating off into a clear blue sky.

Hot air balloons are something that really do lift the spirits, what a great idea f for your card for Matthew. And great serendipity that you ended up with a green strip in the background for the boy to stand on.
