I combined a bunch of challenges into this card, and I'd like it if I could remember how to watercolor, but sadly, I watercolor like a third grader again. I'm very much out of practice. I printed this Power Poppy digi in very light ink and watercolored it along with this week's WCW video. Then I cut it out and popped it up on this scene with glittery snow and my favorite winter technique - Layered Gesso Background. First I stamped dark snowflakes, on light blue cardstock, then I covered with Gesso and rubbed some Gelatos around the edges. Then I covered with blue glitter paint, and applied Nuvo Mousse through a snowflake stencil. I topped the Nuvo Mousse with Stickles gel. That was a lot of work for a card that I don't love. But I have two more backgrounds to make a better card.
Oh, and for yesterday's WT challenge, the rough is the textured snowflakes and the smooth is the Nuvo Crystal Glaze.

So happy to see you back as I know you have had a busy summer with the boys and ball. Your gingerbread house is a cutie and I love the heart shape on the door and the candy canes. I see all those pretty, sparkly snowflakes, too. Looks like a really wintry day.

Oh, that has to be one of my all time favourite background techniques - when I know I have time. What a tasty looking gingerbread treat. I'm slowly working my way though a book of Advent cookies.
