The challenge was a water theme. I created a page for one of my favorite places to visit to include in an "about me" scrapbook. The picture looks a little elongated??? The title is created from pictures of the glass covering the beach. The large circle highlights snapshots of the tidepools and trash. The picture on the left includes an envelope with some of the beach glass.
Journaling: The power of water. I have always loved the water. Swimming, boating, hot baths, but the place I find the most peace is at the beach. Listening to the power of the water as the tide comes in and out is the best music for my soul. Glass Beach is one of my beloved places to visit in Fort Bragg. For years as a little girl I would go to this treasurehold and gather beautiful pieces of weathered glass.
It wasnÂ’t until many years later that Dolores laughed and told me the origin of my special place. In the late 1940Â’s, Glass Beach was simply the city dump. Household garbage and even cars were dumped over into the ocean. Twenty years later the city realized the consequences of the dumpsite and moved it inland.
Years of waves pounding against this trash has turned it into treasure. Embedded in the rock are still remnants of discarded cars, creating tide pools of rusty waters. Rather than gazing down at sandy beaches, you witness millions of tiny pieces of polished glass glistening in the sun.

Beautiful layout and awesome journalling! I really love your title, using the pics of the glass beach! I just learned of a local glass beach the other day (same "city dump" story) so I'm even more interested to go check it out!! Thanks so much for sharing!
