 | | I thought I was being so clever cutting out my wreath, painting white acrylic onto it and pressing it to my Kraft paper to get my wreath outline, lol It was a very sad failure, but undaunted, I tried again, working faster. This time I managed to get a tiny bit of impression in spots, and some peeled off brow paper from my die cut sloughing off and onto my page. It was a happy enough accident, as it left pieces as guidelines and a general wreath shape I could paint some branches into and follow for my dots. The dotting part was so quick and effective, thanks so much, Angie for the introduction. I made a few smaller dots with the end of my paintbrush, and then used my sepia pencil to draw in some more darker branches and shade some berries for a bit of depth. I sponged pumice stone ink around the edges and was done. However, though I loved the monochromatic, it seemed a little unfinished when I looked at my photo, so I decided to add in the bow and button. This can either be a Christmas wish, or what I intend to use it for, a note of encouragement for a gentleman in our church going through a health struggle.
I really want to do a craft with my new neighbourhood ladies, and I think this one is so quick and beautiful. I just need to figure out how to simplify getting my wreath to paper. |
