 | | I always have trouble spelling chlorophyll....one L or two??
Anyway, this is for today's sketch, which is lovely, and today's ABC21-N is for Nightshade. There are several different types of nightshade; some are highly toxic although peppers, tomatoes, potatoes and eggplant are part of the solanaceae family and of course, we've all eaten those without getting sick. The flowers are gone from my plants but there are bright red berries.
I discovered this summer that I have nightshade at the back of my lot. Yes, the flowers are purple, quite cute, but I dried and pressed some, not so purple anymore. I used some of the leaves, which are quite small, on my background. Lots of chlorophyll in them as you can see. I used today's sketch, rather messily, because I saw the circles around the main image as threads. Hard to tame metallic threads, they go where they want. I added some more thread because I thought there wasn't enough (!!) and scored a bit at the bottom. As far as inks go, I used just about every purple/pink Distress ink that exists.
Thanks for the challenges!!!! |
