CC1019 Birthday for her
Added to Favorite

Photo Details
Poster: DCinkit

My card is for the Color Challenge hosted by Mary. Her colors are Night of Navy, Petal Pink and Moody Mauve. The dessert option is Birthday.

I started with a old favorite, wood-mounted, two-step stamp set. On a half sheet of white cardstock, I randomly stamped along the long edge. On the first stamp, I inked only the big bloom section in Petal Pink and then used my Mossy Meadow Marker on the stem. I stamped many of those flowers across the edge. On the second stamp, I inked only the bloom details (not the stem) in Moody Mauve. Then, using the stamp-a-ma-jig tool, I stamped the Mauve details on top of the Pink bloom. On the third stamp, I inked up the tall image of leaves/blooms in Night of Navy. I stamped off once or twice for varying depth of color and stamped repeatedly along the long edge. Then, using the stamp-a-ma-jig, I stamped the detail stamp in full strength with Night of Navy on some of the stamped images.

It was fun to create this panel by only stamping along the edge. Then, I cut it up into pieces of different sizes. Now I have panels to make more cards this week! On the piece I used for my card, I added some Petal Pink speckle, Wink of Stella and layered it on top of an embossed panel of Moody Mauve. Along the left side, I added some die-cut stems and a bow. The sentiment was stamped in Night of Navy. I embellished with a faceted dot subbing the Mauve color with Rococo Rose. I do not know yet how it will photograph, but out in the sunlight, the dot looked like a close match to Moody Mauve.

We hope you will join in and create with these colors! TFL

So pretty Diane- I always love your 2-step stamping. The angled panels are showing your design off so nicely.

I love the free form look of the flowers. I'm pretty sure I still have that set around here somewhere! I love how you took something old and made it so fresh and fun. Lovely card!

Your 2 step stamping looks wonderful in these colors and I like how you achieved the varying depths of Night of Navy.

What a clever technique, Diane, and it made a beautiful card! I especially like those two tall branches at the side. Kinda makes me think of a flagpole flying a pretty, floral flag!
