 | | The title comes from ABC21K for King's Spear, a flower. Yes, kings probably carried some kind of spear or at least a foil or sword at one time. So I focused on the 'king' part of it, since I had nothing that looked remotely like the flower. Asphodeline lutea reaches 3-4 feet, leaves are grey-green and the flower is bright yellow. I used a lot of gold gel prints, including a brayer off. Stamped in black and heat embossed in clear. I remembered I had these little German scrap crowns (probably had them for 20 some years) so I put a few at the top. I'm including this for the sketch this week and also MariLynn's MIX-make something joyful. I've had these crazy Dylusians stamps for a while, thought they looked kind of wonky like the real flower and the stamps make me smile and give me joy, plus I love using metallics.
Boy what a last 14 hours I've had. I slept in because I tried to get online to purchase Milwaukee Ballet Nutcracker tickets before midnight, as they were 25% off. I couldn't manage the Ticketmaster website so my daughter had to do it. Therefore I got to bed later (for me) and slept in. I had just awoken when I heard a loud pop outside; 10 houses, including mine, lost power. The transformer is right behind my house. Fortunately all was fixed very quickly. Now I get to take my car in to find out why it's clunking in the back. Yes, it's Friday the 13th. Thanks for listening.
Thanks for the challenges and I hope you find some joy today! |
