In case the title puzzles you, Lady Drops, aka fuschia, is the L12 challenge for ABC21. I think Victorian ladies earrings were called 'drops' as they were on wires. Who knows?
Boy what a last 14 hours I've had. I slept in because I tried to get online to purchase Milwaukee Ballet Nutcracker tickets before midnight, as they were 25% off. I couldn't manage the Ticketmaster website so my daughter had to do it. I was very frustrated. Therefore I got to bed later (for me) and slept in. I had just awoken when I heard a loud pop outside; 10 houses, including mine, lost power. The transformer is right behind my house. Fortunately all was fixed very quickly. Now I get to take my car in to find out why it's clunking in the back. Yes, it's Friday the 13th. Thanks for listening.
This is for this week's sketch and also today's MIX-do something that gives on joy. MariLynn is not as joyful as she usually is because of her injury, which is not full of joy. This card doesn't necessarily fill me with joy because the flowers aren't fuschia and I'm not too crazy about the garishness. But I did enjoy the Zentangle that I did a while ago; I wish I had left it black and white. I think fuschia could look like this from below so I'm going with it. And I like to challenge myself to keep using the sketch of the week.
I used colored pencils to color the Zentangle panels; one has the flowers colored, the other the negative spaces. I chose colors that fuschia might come in.
Thanks for the challenges and I hope you all find some joy in the day!

I never knew that was a name for fuchsia. I think they could definitely look like that seen from below. We had the regular plain red ones in our garden when I was young and they grow wild in the hedgerows all along the west coast. We used to play with the flowers pretending they were little ballerinas. The headmaster of the local primary school grew the very fancy frilled double/triple ones in pale pinks, and they too made great ballerinas.
I'm glad your power outage was short and hope the is nothing major wrong with the car. I like the silver embossed piece which almost looks like a crochet medallion.

Oh my, what a way to start Friday the 13th. I hope today is a more relaxing day for you. I did not know that was the name for fuchsia, but I love reading tidbits. Your colors are so vibrant and work so well with this week's sketch.

More super creative card making, Jean, especially with all you have going on. Very fun mix of colors, images, designs and thoughts. I like where you went on this one. Hugz
