Mary is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has given us a rare treat. She has selected the three primary colors. With those three colors we can make every color in the rainbow, which is exactly what I did! The colors are Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Azure Afternoon.
I got out my Gansai Tambi watercolors, and pulled out the three that were closest in my swatch samples to the challenge colors. Using a glass mat with a white blending area, I created a palette of red, yellow and blue, and then in other areas, I combined the primary colors to create orange, green, and purple.
I brushed the colors on in rainbow order, then washed over it in certain areas with clear water and dried with my craft tool. The gentle air flow created some interesting transitions in the colors--especially turning the yellow and green into something that looks like grass to me.
I added a silhouette stamp and a greeting in VersaFine black ink, then sprinkled with clear embossing powder and heat set. Mounted on a layer of black and then on a white base card, added a few AB gems, and it was done.
Whether you stick to the challenge colors or mix them up, we'd love to see your creative ideas for this week's colors. So please make something pretty and share it in the gallery!

Love this card and how you used your watercolors to create different colors. And your yellow and green areas do look like grass. This is a beautiful card, Barbara.
