This Tuesday, the tea party has turned into a banquet, and any food item is welcome.
My starting point was the piece of cardstock with two onions on it, which came in a collection of kitchen themed ephemera that I got at Tuesday Morning.
After deciding on the onions, I pulled out an old cookbook that I got off the library's "Free" cart. Flipping through it, I found a recipe that featured onions -- Onion Frittata.
Of course, you can't have a frittata without eggs, milk, and a few spices. I cut the egg from a sheet of paper from 7 Gypsies "Conservatory" pad, and popped it up on some dimensional foam. The milk bottle is a button with the shank cut off. The herb and spice stickers are from Etsy.
A piece of basket weave patterned paper seemed appropriately rustic, so I used that as my background. After arranging and gluing everything down on it, all I needed to do was fill in a few empty spaces. The black pair of leaves and the word "Handgrown" are from a stamp set I bought at Tuesday Morning. The word "flavor" is actually a refrigerator magnet. Back when refrigerator magnet poetry sets were popular, I ended up with three themes -- food, cats, and erotica. So, as you can imagine, that produced some interesting poetry. LOL!

Oh man, you're making me hungry - and I got home from work too late to have lunch, which isn't helping any. I like the woven background design and the bunches of herbs. Nutmeg, that's something I'll have to try next time!!

This is great..you gave him the picture and the recipe he could try out! What a wonderful collection of bit and pieces that you've assembled here. I love the idea of using free library book for your words and recipe. I may need to pick up one of those free books at mine.

wow - excellent idea to add a recipe. I have an old hymnal that I sometimes use in my cards, now I'll have to find a cookbook at a yard sale and use it on cards. Very clever... I never thought of it.. Great basket weave as the background... lots of details.

So clever and fun. Love how you turned that dp into a recipe for enjoyment. Love that you used a magnet here too. I bet this will inspire him to make some frittatas himself. Yum and a very yummy card. Great job.

Love your thoughts process and where you ended up with this card. Great use of resources. On a separate note, I'm still sad that they closed all the Tuesday Morning stores. :-(
