While I am catching up on several weeks worth of Featured Stampers, I decided not to fall any further behind so I went ahead and did a card for the challenge for today, in honor of Linda AKA Wild Cow.
I kept the same overall look of a sort of hollow tree but changed up the birds inside the opening and made a Fathers Day card rather than birthday.
I started with a Kraft card base. I cut a smaller rectangle of light tan card stock, and die cut the opening with a die from a set of diorama dies. I originally wanted to put the owl stickers on a die cut branch inside the opening, but I liked the funky mixed media looking background on the sticker paper that I ended up leaving the stickers on the backing and cutting the whole section out of the sticker sheet. I positioned it on the card base then attached the tan piece on top with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of white cardstock, trimmed it and glued to the card.
Congratulations to Linda, hope it is a fun week.
