For the Color Challenge hosted by Mary. Her challenge colors are: Pecan Pie, Boho Blue, Calypso Coral with Designer Series Paper for the dessert option.
This is my first time using these dies. No stamps were needed. So fun!
The background is DSP to create a sunset seen between the trees. I sponged on more Calypso Coral at the bottom and Boho Blue over the lighter blue areas. (The darker areas behind the tree foliage are Night of Navy and Misty Moonlight â both neutrals.)
Next, I die-cut the tree frame and the two deer in Pecan Pie. After the frame was attached to the DSP, I distressed and sponged the edges. I wrapped some burlaps strings at the top and then attached the panel to a Coral card base. I glued on the two deer. The wooden embellishments were lightly sponged with Pecan Pie and glued on at the top.
I am so looking forward to seeing all your creativity! I hope you will join in with the closest colors you have. TFL

This is stunning, Diane. Your sponging at the edge of the forest frame die cut really makes it pop! Now I have to go look for that DSP pattern - I thought that you had sponged or brushed it.

I can't believe you found the perfect piece of DSP for this challenge, Diane! I love the die-cut silhouette and the extra little leaves and twine. So pretty!

Such a beautiful blended background you created over the dsp, Diane; I love this peaceful card! The mother deer and fawn are so sweet and I love yout finishing touch with the burlap and wooden leaves.
