I liked sketching with the watercolour pencils but the technique for adding colour is tricky on smaller spaces. My flowers are just random - no idea what variety!
I had always been shown to take the colour from the tip of the watercolour pencil with a wet (not soggy) brush and I think this is easier to control in terms of colour placement.

Your flowers look great and so pretty, Janine, and I think you are right about pencils being easier in terms of color placement.

Beautiful sketching with your pencils. I agree with you about placement, another asset of pencils. You really created a texture of veining with this painting. Terrific job. TFS Thanks for your positive view.

Your card is lovely and your flowers, beautiful, Janine. I admire your work with the watercolor pencils. It was interesting hearing about another technique with them.
