Julie has selected a wonderful gallery to browse for inspiration this week. Congratulations, Kathy, on being this week's featured stamper, I enjoyed your gallery and found this beauty for inspiration: Thanksgiving 2009 card by jkelliot at Splitcoaststampers
I kept a similar layout though I changed my focal panel into a tag. I kept my sentiment small and on the lower panel. I changed the colors and the image.
This is also for last week's Alphabet Challenge. This round we are focused on restaurants and this is for a wonderful restaurant in Pendleton, OR called Roosters. My colors were inspired by this week's color challenge but are not the same as their colors so I didn't put that challenge in my key words.
I selected my striped paper and went from there. I die cut my tag and stamped my rooster and then colored him based on the striped dp used for the upper part of the card. I have no idea whether there are any roosters out there that even remotely have this kind of color scheme but there is nothing that says we have to stick with realistic, is there?! I stippled the ground for the rooster using several colors of earth tone markers and I sponged around the rooster with whatever blue ink was left on my blending brush. Added twine and popped the tag up with foam tape. I used a fine liner to hand pen the sentiment. Strutting just seems the correct word for a rooster, doesn't it?
Thanks for the challenges and thanks for looking!
(And I was alerted that this also works for VSN Madder Than a Wet Hen - thank you, Ann!.)

Fab coloring on that rooster, Catherine. Great details and colors on this card/case. Super fun sentiment too. Hugz
