No MIX challenge yesterday - I made my own by using up a lot of left-over strips from various homemade backgrounds to create a Herringbone panel (Herringbone Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers ). I used a large address label to adhere my strips to. It's a mix of gel ptins, stencilling and stamping. I have no hesitation in throwing out scraps of DP, but when it comes to my own backgrounds I tend to keep them till I have enough to do something like this. I tried out several assorted die-cuts and different colours, and in the end white seemed to work best, layered up three times for dimension. I added a gold gel pen border.

I love the background strips you made! I'm the same way--I can throw out pieces of DSP with no problem, but hang onto my own I make pretty much forever! This is so striking that I saved to my Favorites. I can't stop looking at it. LOVE!
