Jacqueline is leading this week's MMTPT/tea party challenge in honor of my dear friend Theresa.
Theresa experienced the loss of her husband a few months ago, and more recently, her high school sweetheart, who was a cherished friend to both of us and our families, also passed away.
I love that Jacqueline thought of how things seem darkest before dawn - such a lovely thought holding the promise of lovely things in the future.
I hope this painting looks like dawn - it looked like sunset during most of its creation. I think I saved it with a good scrubbing of Sapphire ink....I watched this very lovely YouTube video to create it. I recommend watching it even if all you do is listen to the artist and the music because just listening to him made me feel calm:

Nancy, this is just perfect. I can see just a bit of daylight beginning to come but still darkness in the trees/forest. This is such a wonderful card for your friend and I am sad for both of you in this terrible loss. May God comfort you both.

Beautiful card! It definitely captures the look of being outside at dawn, and reminds me of the many early morning walks I've taken. Absolutely spectacular.

Stunning scene...very peaceful and perfect for reflection of God's love. I hope our cards lift up Theresa in her time of need. Sounds like she's been through a lot.

Magnificent sketching and watercolors! The trees are amazing, the scene looks like the dawn of a new day. The colors and the shading are perfect.
