It's time to attempt my annual channeling of Mary Engelbreit for my dearest niece and HUGE Mary E. fan. This year I wandered from her signature primary colors to her more muted palette using her cottage rose design as my inspiration. I have stamps that more closely mirror her rose, but I really wanted a stenciled bg as I was inspired by this photo on Simon's shop page for the die: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/441634307224591485/ My niece has also become a "Frenchie" mom since her chicks flew the nest. So I'm incorporating her newest "kid", Sadie, into the mix as well.
For the card, I simply stenciled the bg and then layered on black as Mary E uses black in so many of her pieces. I die cut and colored the Frenchie as close to Sadie as I could manage. She is basically white all over with that funny patch of dark on her muzzle. I printed the sentiment on velum and the interior on cs using Snowflake font. Adhered and added the sequins.
Well, I hope my niece enjoys her card and my humor. My hubby was smirking before he even read the inside so I know he got it. I hope it made you smirk too. TFL
