This was a fun experiment for me. I love the stamps from Visible Image where the edges of the image look like they are floating off in bubbles or wisps like this set: https://www.visibleimage.com/en-gb/p...mp-set/bl2320/
I knew I couldn't "paint" that look but I wanted to see if I could somehow replicate it. I didn't quite succeed, but I do love how this bg turned out and I will likely do it again.
I started by stamping paint splatters from the SU Grunge set in yellow, blue and purple onto watercolor paper. I generously spritz the paper and then let the water run a bit to blend. In some places I used a clean wet brush to move the ink as well. I love the colors and it has a translucence that is really lovely IRL. I got a bit of bubbles around the edges too so I was happy about that. I stamped the butterfly several times with black ink and then embossed with clear EP to give it a bit of sheen. The sentiment is computer generated using Yellow Rabbit font. Finished it off with clear rhinestones,
My niece, Bethany, just finished her BS degree in Psychology and we could not be more proud of her. I think she will always dream big and I know she will have a beautiful and immense impact on the lives of many people as she pursues this career. She's a natural. TFL

Debbie, this is beautiful and I love your w/c background. The bubbles are great. I always love seeing what watercolor will make as it runs free or with help. Your b/fly is gorgeous and your niece is sure to love the card make especially for her.

OOooh! Love how you created those dreamy blue wisps around the wings! Almost as if the butterfly generates those colors as it flutters. Bethany sounds amazing and she is going to be delighted to receive this treasure. Just lovely!!
